Gene Kloss, A Morning in April

A lone horse and rider move along a path in the center of the print toward a large cottonwood and pine tree. They are beneath a bluff characterized by rock outcroppings. A pasture with grazing horses is visible to the right of the print. Details of sage and brush on the left emphasize the grandeur of this quintessential Southwestern scene juxtaposed with the small horse and rider, comfortable in the nature they inhabit.
