Debbie Long, Blue Shotgun Shell Butte

Created by casting glass of bullet casings found in the New Mexico desert over a three-year period, the upper portion of the subject is pale pink. The lower portion of the three-dimensional sculpture is a cool translucent blue. Interested in how light communicates without language led Long to create with found objects works of art that allowed her to fuse objects with light.
