Ronald Davis, Staurolite

The photo print of a Ron Davis fabricated staurolite is similar to St. Andrew's Cross or an X. The staurolite crystal is a natural phenomenon which occurs when two crystals grow together with a 60° angle. It is found in the earth at only a few places in the world and is a rare, mysterious and mystical mineral. It is found in Taos County, NM. The subject image is shown in shades of pink with two of the cross shapes in a pale green.
