There is a three dimensional quality to the work because of the way the horizontals and their colors are laid out. The dominance of the light blue acrylic paint makes the surface as if you are looking into a cloud, and there is a subtle movement existent bellow the layers of thin paint. This light blue is broken up by thin bands of white, and within bands of darker blue outlined with graphite. The band of white bellow the light blue and a band of darker blue above make it look as though every other horizontal of light blue exists on a separate, closer plane from the others. - Maranda Nieman
